Keeping a popular nameplate fresh can be difficult, but that’s obviously not the case for Ford and the Bronco. The midsize SUV has regularly expanded its opportunities and features based on the needs of modern-day adventure-seeking drivers and the rich history its legacy is built. For 2025, Ford has introduced a number of new features, one of which is the all-new Stroppe Special Edition for the popular midsize SUV, which hearkens back to its Baja-winning days in the desert. If you were waiting for something spectacular to arrive for the off-road adventure vehicle before seriously considering shopping for a Ford Bronco for sale, the Stroppe Special Edition just might be what you’ve been waiting for.

Built on a Legacy of Success

The Stroppe Special edition is an upper-end trim option added to the lineup, slotted between the popular Badlands and the indomitable Raptor. This addition didn’t just come out of nowhere, though. It actually has roots dating back decades, digging deep into the Bronco’s performance history and racing pedigree before it resurfaced on the market as an adventure-themed midsize SUV with the sixth generation.

The Stroppe Special Edition is based on the Stroppe Baja Bronco that was originally designed during the first generation in the 1960s. The Stroppe Baja Bronco is named after driver Bill Stroppe, a proficient racer and designer who also co-piloted the Bronco during the Baja 1000 with Parnelli Jones. After winning in 1969, Stroppe realized the Bronco required a lot of engineering and workshopping to create a 4×4 that wouldn’t fall victim to the harsh realities of the grueling race. Hence, the off-road vehicle was built to near perfection to win the Baja 1000 in 1970 using lots of custom tuning and a unique livery that lives on today with the 2025 Stroppe Special Edition.

A uniquely fabricated chassis and roll cage with a tube-frame design laid the groundwork for a vehicle that would be built tough enough to handle the dunes and durable enough to withstand the harshness of the race back in the 1960s and 1970s. That kind of inspiration is what helped lay the groundwork for the modern-era iteration of the Stroppe Baja Bronco for a present-day take on the classic design, embodying the performance, suspension, and aesthetic advancements over the years to create something truly special for today’s SUV shopper. It’s a nice mix of the old with the new, paying homage to the roots while pushing the brand forward.

Baja 1000-Inspired Performance

The Stroppe Special Edition embodies the kind of performance and capabilities reminiscent of the highly rugged and very durable Stroppe Baja Bronco that came out of the Stroppe factory back in the 1970s. That means having the suspension articulation, the damping power, the performance capabilities, and the chassis durability to perform well through the Baja 1000. This all starts with the 2025 Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition coming equipped with a 2.7L Ecoboost V6 that makes up to 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque when running on premium fuel. The V6 is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.

You also have an advanced 4×4 system with automatic on-demand engagement from the transfer case, along with different drive modes you can alter based on the kind of torque output you need. There are four different modes for the 4×4 system, including 4-Lo, 2-High, 4-High, and 4-Auto. These let you choose whether you want low-end or high-end torque, depending on whether you’re doing normal daily driving or rock crawling or hill climbing on the weekend. The different options are afforded to the different kinds of 4×4 driving disciplines you plan to utilize with your Bronco.

To help enhance the vehicle’s off-road prowess, it has Fox internal bypass dampers to reduce the stress on the chassis when jumping dunes or going over rough terrain, as well as the HOSS 3.0, or the High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension, which features improved springs, enhanced axles, and better articulation so you can scale hills, move through muddy terrain, or ford through water with relative ease. Plus, it has the stabilizer bar disconnect, a 4.7:1 rear axle ratio, and a rear locking differential so you can get the traction you need when venturing off-road. Plus, there is the Baja Mode that is available with the G.O.A.T. Modes added exclusively for the Stroppe Special Edition.

A Classic Design for the Modern Era

The Stroppe livery stood out back in the day with its Calypso Coral, Astral Blue, and Wimbledon White color scheme, mostly covered with sponsor tags around the body panels. While the logos from sponsors may not be present on the exterior of the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition, the spirit of the color scheme is still very apparent. Ford has adopted the heritage paint colors for the current day expectations of Bronco drivers, with Oxford White replacing the Wimbledon White and Code Orange replacing the Calypso Coral, while Atlas Blue rounds out the trio in place of Astral Blue. A large Code Orange Bronco logo also sits in the center of a Frozen White grille, while the Atlas Blue hard top brings out the contrast of the brighter colors. There are also Stroppe Special Edition logos featured throughout the vehicle to remind everyone what kind of Bronco you’re driving.

Seventeen-inch beadlock-capable wheels are tucked inside 35-inch rugged-terrain tires to make the most use of the high-clearance suspension and high-clearance fender flares to avoid damage to the exterior body. Modern-day features such as evasive steering assist have been added to give you more stability and control both on and off the road. Whether you’re a veteran driver or a newbie when it comes to off-roading, there are driver aids present to help make the adventure more streamlined. You also have dual front recovery hooks and undercarriage bash plates to help further protect you while off-road.

Stylistic Interior For Stylish Drivers

The exterior may really stand out with its bright colors and distinct features, but the interior is just as inviting. It features the Stroppe Edition Graphics Package, with a white instrument mid-panel between the upper and lower dashboard, with Code Orange interior trim and accents on the cabin materials that run throughout the dashboard, side door panels, and center console. There is a large Code Orange Bronco logo on the passenger side of the dashboard and additional Bronco and Stroppe Special Edition badging throughout the cabin, including a special badge on the center console above the cupholder.
You also have plenty of useful features such as LED approach lamps and spotlights to help with visibility, a 360-degree camera to help with navigating off-road using the 12-inch HD touchscreen, as well as information on-demand thanks to the SYNC 4 operating system with enhanced voice recognition. The B&O sound system from Bang & Olufsen also comes standard with 12 speakers and a subwoofer. Those who want an off-road-ready midsize SUV that is also very viable for daily driving will find front parking sensors, auto high-beam headlamps, lane-keeping, and pre-collision assist, thanks to the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite. Even better is that FordPass offers a performance app and off-road navigation, bridging the rugged off-road performance capabilities of the Bronco Stroppe Special Edition with the safety and assistance provided by Ford’s modern-day safety engineering capabilities.
