Performance

Engine Options

Drivers of full-size pickup trucks traditionally want to know what sorts of jobs their trucks can do. The good news is that for the 2025 F-150, the answer is almost all of them. This powerful pickup boasts a range of engine options that are impressively versatile, making the F-150 accessible to drivers with all sorts of priorities, be that fuel economy, amazing towing powers, payload powers, or a bit of all of the above.

Gas Engines

If you want to stick to a traditional gas engine model, the 2025 F-150 offers several. You have the option of three gas engine V6sā€”a 2.7L, a 3.5L, and a 3.5L High Output V6. The 3.5L High Output Ecoboost V8 boasts an astounding 450 hp (appropriately, this powerful being is only available on the off-road Raptor trim). All three have EcoBoost, Ford’s proprietary technology that delivers the powers of a big engine with the fuel efficiency of a smaller one. In fact, the 3.5L turbocharged V6 unlocks the F-150’s maximum towing capacity of 13,500 pounds. You also have two V8 engine options. There’s a 5.2L supercharged V8 that generates a hugely impressive 770 hp and is only available on the Raptor R, and a 5.0L V8 that generates a still-impressive 400 hp. If it’s a serious roar beneath the hood you’re after, this nice lineup of V8s should satisfy your needs.

The Hybrid Option

Are you looking to move away from traditional gas engine powertrains? The 2025 F-150 has options for you. It has the 3.5L PowerBoost full-hybrid V6, letting you combine the powers of a strong battery with a V6 engine. Then there is the fully electrified F-150 Lighting. No matter what tasks or drives you have planned for your pickup, the 2025 F-150 should have the right powertrain for your lifestyle.

Safety

Safety is an important element of performance, and the 2025 F-150 will more than impress you with its Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist features. With it, you get features like a Lane-Keeping System with Evasive Steering Assist, which provides gentle steering inputs to help you stay in your lane and more aggressive inputs to help you avoid a collision. A Rear View Camera comes standard, too, helping you get a good look at your surroundings when backing out of driveways, into tight garages, or into parking spots. Hill Descent Control is part of the package, as well, and it controls downhill speed (a bonus when you’re trailering).

Also in the Co-Pilot360 suite is a Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, which will notify you if someone is in your blind spot when you intend to change lanes. Available Adaptive Cruise Control works with standard cruise control to maintain your preset speed while slowing down when necessary to maintain a safe following distance. Automatic high beams automatically toggle between lowlights and high beams to boost visibility while not blinding oncoming drivers.

Utility

Pro-Access Tailgate

A solid pickup has to be ready to help you with all sorts of tasks, both when you’re behind the wheel and on the ground. The 2025 F-150 will exceed your expectations for utility, making common jobs easier and faster. Let’s start with the available Pro Access Tailgate. This tailgate can swing out 100 degrees, allowing for a new way to access your bed’s contents (it can still swing down, too). Being able to swing the gate out can put you 19 inches closer to the bed than when you swing it down. Additionally, you can set it to three detent angles that will hold the gate in place without fully extending it. This makes it easier to access the bed’s contents, even when you have a trailer attached to your hitch, or simply to load longer items.

Trailering

Speaking of attaching a trailer, you’ll find it easier to do so than ever, thanks to the many trailer hitch technology features. First, there’s Pro Trailer Backup Assist. Steering a truck with a trailer attached is no easy feat. Luckily, you can just turn the Pro Trailer Backup Assist knob and tell the truck what direction you want your trailer to go, and it will steer the truck and trailer into position for you. When you still need to hitch your truck to your trailer, you can use Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. It steers, accelerates, and brakes your truck for you when aligning it with a trailer hitch. Trailer Hitch Assist projects guidelines on your touchscreen to help you manually align your truck with your trailer. You won’t always have someone to spot you when hitching to a trailer or maneuvering a truck and trailer into a spot. These features can be your second set of eyes.

Pro Power Onboard

If you never know what sorts of power sources you’ll have at your given job sites or campsites, you’ll love the Pro Power Onboard. It’s an onboard generator available in three power levels: 2.0kW, 2.4kW, and 7.2kW (available with the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine). Depending on the generator you get, you can plug in a variety of appliances and tools, small and large. The 2.0kW generator lets you plug in items like TVs, jigsaws, and blenders. The 2.4kW will have you covered with items like hammer drills, laser printers, and microwaves. That upper-level generator with 7.2kW of power lets you plug in items like welders and air compressors. So, whether you use your pickup for work, recreation, or both and don’t know if you’ll have access to wall outlets wherever you go, this generator will be a huge perk.

Convenience

Interior

Now, let’s take a look at some of the great features inside the 2025 F-150. It’s loaded with surprises that will streamline your days on the road and at job sites. One of these is the available interior work surface. When your truck is equipped with this, it gives you a stowable shifter that enables you to open and unfold the center console into a flat work surface. This creates the ideal place to fill out invoices, look over blueprints, or simply place your tablet for some light reading during your lunch break.

Do you have valuables you need to store out of sight when you aren’t around to supervise your truck? Take advantage of the under-seat lockable storage. It’s hidden away from prying eyes, but should anyone stumble upon it, it’s also lockable for further security. On days you’ve maxed out your bed or simply have items you’d like to keep inside the cab, take advantage of the flip-up rear seats. They make it easy to create tons of extra cargo space in a hurry.

Technology

Need to get work done on the road, or have friends or family members who might need to? The 5G Wi-Fi can help with that, connecting your passengers and their devices on the Internet, even when they lack a personal hotspot. And if anyone needs to charge their devices, there’s an available wireless charging pad for that.

Comfort

No matter what the weather has in store for you, you’ll appreciate the available heated and ventilated front seats. Plus, on rainy days, the Rain-Sensing windshield wipers will turn on automatically at the first drop of water, adjusting in intensity to match the downpour. Does your work regularly take you to new job sites? Do your adventures take you to remote roads? You’ll love the connected navigation. You get a one-year free trial with it, and it gets you navigation built into your truckā€”no need to rely on a smartphone app.
